Good morning, fam!
Happy new year and happy first week back to work! Anyone else unplug so hard you forgot how to use your computer? Just me?
While I go back and enter all the time I forgot to submit, check out this week’s recs.
Get those comfy slippers, pour yourself another cup of coffee, and let’s get into it!
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
After seeing it advertised everywhere, I started Reboot on Hulu and it’s funnier than I thought. It’s about an early 2000’s family sitcom that gets (you guessed it) rebooted and all of the dysfunction that follows. Bonus: it has Keegan-Michael Key!
Thanks to a massive sale on the Playstation store, I finally gave Gotham Knights a shot. The original story is a cool continuation from the Arkham games, but if I’m being honest, the gameplay is meh. If you’re a comic nerd like me, then it might still be worth it.
While on break, my friend Jess showed me a mobile game called Mob Control and honestly, I’m straight up addicted. It’s bad. I’ve been playing this game so much, I even dropped $2.99 for the ad-free version. Play at your own risk.
During movie night, we went with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and it was…interesting. Definitely a ton of funny moments, but the twist was not as shocking as the first. Daniel Craig is easily the best part.
Speaking of movie night and onions, before we settled in, we grabbed dinner at…wait for it…Outback feaking Steakhouse! I hadn’t been there since I was a kid on vacation with my family in Branson (the Vegas of Missouri). We started things off with a Bloomin’ Onion because when in Rome? You don’t want to know how many calories it has…
…and while we waited for our food, I got their “Boomarita” sample because I’m a sucker for mini margaritas that come on a boomarang. After drinking the original, blackberry, mango, and watermelon, I have to say these weren’t the worst margs I’ve ever had. A ringing endorsement, right?
Do you agree with these top five career trends for 2023?
Since you’re reading this, it’s obvious I’m all-in on Substack. If you’re interested in starting your own newsletter, check out their getting started guides.
I love books and wine, so I couldn’t agree more with this tweet.
You might notice things look a little different around here. If you want to know why, take at sneak peek at my new Substack before it officially launches next week.
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
