Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
We are truly living in the golden age of movies and TV.
Don’t believe me? Watch these 10 trailers for upcoming movies and shows that recently dropped and tell me I’m wrong.
While I watch some of these for the tenth time, check out this week’s recs.
Renew those streaming subscriptions, get yourself an Alamo Season Pass, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
Out of all of these trailers, I’m probably most excited for The Bear Season 3. If this show keeps trending the way it has been, we’re going to get some straight up food porn and I’m here for it. (★★★★★)
How do you kill a bunch of corrupt super heroes? We’re about to find out in The Boys Season 4. If you like super heroes and gore, then you’ll love this series. (★★★••)
This one wasn’t on my radar but it definitely is now. DÌDI (弟弟) is a coming-of-age story about family, love, and skateboarding and it looks funny as hell. (★★★★•)
OK, I completely forgot they are expanding the Dune movies into a full universe with the new series Dune Prophecy. It’s a prequel that takes place 10,000 years before the first movie and it focuses on the Bene Gesserit, the powerful sisterhood that is pulling all the strings behind the scenes. Looks dope as hell! (★★★★•)
We’re also getting a fantasy double whammy with The House of the Dragon Season 2 and…(★★★••)
…The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. Both look pretty cool but if I’m being honest, they’re somewhere in the middle of my watch list. (★★★••)
Apparently Megalopolis, a sci-fi epic with a stacked cast, has been in development for decades and was only recently finished thanks to Francis Ford Coppola spending $120 million of his own money. We’ll see if it was worth it. (★★★★•)
As someone who went deep on MoviePass when it first launched, I’m curious to learn more about what happened behind the scenes with MoviePass, MovieCrash, the documentary about the rise and fall. (★★★★•)
I guess we’re getting a prequel to The Lion King called Mufasa: The Lion King because Disney wants to continue milking this whole “live action” thing. Not super excited but might still see it. (★★•••)
Anyone else get goosebumps while watching the new Wicked trailer? “Defying Gravity” gets me every single time. (★★★★•)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
