Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Mine was a little more bonkers than usual which means I’m fully unplugging and reverting back to Saturday mornings as a kid.
Yes, I’m still in my PJs. Yes, I’ve already made it through a bowl of cereal. And yes, I’m getting ready to throw on some cartoons.
While I lose myself in Batman: The Animated Series, check out this week’s recs.
Plop yourself down on the couch, get cozy, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
For movie night, we watched Wolfs and I have to hand it to Brad Pitt and George Clooney—they have more onscreen chemistry than an episode of Bridgerton. Too bad the plot was a little meandering. Worth a watch just to reminisce about the good ‘ol Ocean’s Eleven days. (★★★••)
Since we finished relatively early, we threw on another movie I had never seen. That’s right. High School freaking Musical. Despite all of the autotune and weird incest vibes from Sharpay and Ryan, I enjoyed it. Plus, the songs obviously slapped. (★★★••)
Abby and I saw Speak No Evil at Alamo and even though James McAvoy gave another bonkers performance, it fell a little flat (probably because the twists and turns where telegraphed in the trailers). Still worth the watch but don’t except any jaw-dropping surprises. (★★★••)
Since it’s the season for fall mocktails, I threw Liquid Death Psycho Cider, Apple Cider, pumpkin spice, and an apple garnish into a glass and called it an “Apple Cider Spritz,” which I will have in my hand over the next month and a half straight. Hell, I might even kick things up a notch and try this recipe. (★★★★•)
Thanks to this week’s Prime Day (and my desire for a decent cup of coffee), I finally got an AeroPress and my god, it made a perfect cup of coffee from the jump! I guess I called it last week… (★★★★★)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
