Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good workweek.
I’m giving a workshop today as part of ProductCamp St. Louis 2023, so I’ve been up since 7ish.
While I inject endless amounts of coffee intravenously into my body, feel free to check out this week’s recs.
Put on that name tag, swipe a swag bag, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
I just started Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner (aka Japanese Breakfast) and I’m already in love with how she uses food as a window into her relationships with her family. I can already tell this is one of those memoirs that will be around for a while.
So we finished Swarm this week and we were both a teeny bit confused after the finale. Luckily, we found some answers here.
After what felt like an eternity, we finally got try Sado (STL’s newest sushi restaurant on The Hill) during their opening week with some friends and holly hell - easily the best sushi I’ve probably ever had.
We started with some cocktails and I got the Dragon of Echigo (a twist on the Boulevardier that’s made with Knob Creek rye, ginger- and togarashi-infused port, Benedictine. and cream sherry). I’d easily get it again.
As far as food, we did what any good foodie foursome would do: we tried a little bit of everything and shared. Some of the standouts for me were the Nippon tartare, black tiger prawn tempura, several insane nigiri, and the shibo maki roll (salmon belly, avocado, lemon zest, sprouts, roe, spice, and scallion).
The workshop I mentioned I’m hosting is called “You Are Your Own Product: How to share your story online with adding to the noise.” TL;DR: Writing online can change your career so here’s how to write your first article. Interested? I’ll be sharing the deck as soon as it’s over.
Happy belated “Parks and Rec Day” to all who celebrated yesterday.
Whenever we do get our own place, I might steal this idea for my home office.
According to The Atlantic, America has a drinking problem. Do you agree?
A lot of teams struggle to form and do meaningful work in corporate America and lot of people watch Love Island UK. Here's what happens when you tackle both
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
