Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Not a ton going on except for the tiny fact that WE. BOUGHT. A. HOUSE?!?!?
I’m still not sure how any bank in their right mind would trust the likes of me, but hey, c'est la vie!
After signing and initialing more forms than the IRS has ever received, we closed, picked up our keys, and introduced the pups to their new outdoor playground.
While I start dreaming up our first renovations, check out this week’s recs.
Pile in the car, head on over to Home Depot, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
Last night, we tried to watch Werewolves Within and I say “tried” because I fell asleep like 20 minutes in. It had some potential with a few great actors, but honestly, not worth your time. (★★•••)
And Suits Season 6 is in the books! I have to say, that Donna and Benjamin side quest was…interesting, but still the same show I’ve come to know and love. (★★★★•)
As I’m writing this, I’m trying my first latté in years: this Maple Spiced Oat Milk Latté from Quarrelsome Coffee. The barista was right - the spice cuts through the sweetness. Am I doing this coffee connoisseur thing right? (★★★••)
I finally upgraded to a big boy toothbrush and, per my dentist’s rec, picked up the Oral B Pro 1000 electric toothbrush. Sorry Quip, it’s not me, it’s you. (★★★••)
While we were at World Market looking at furniture and other home accouterment, I found this Moisturizing Man Bar Midnight Amber soap from San Francisco Soap Co. It’s the biggest bar of soap I’ve ever seen and I smell damn good. (★★★★•)
Never one to turn down a new snack, I also found this Moku Mushroom Hawaiian Teriyaki Jerky at World Market. I know, mushroom jerky sounds sus, but this might be the best jerky I’ve ever had, meat or otherwise. (★★★★•)
Ever wonder what tech founders say behind closed doors on email? Turns out, they talk just like us. Check out these internal tech emails to see what I mean. (★★★••)
Once my home office is set up, I 100% plan on following these tips for tidying up at the end of each day. (★★★★•)
There’s no way you haven’t seen an indie movie put out by A24 (Uncut Gems, Hereditary, Lady Bird, and Midsommar to name a few). If that’s not ringing a bell, then maybe you’ve heard of a little movie called Everything Everywhere All at Once. Here’s a really interesting post that shares the story of the studio behind these amazing stories. (★★★★•)
Are you selling or sharing something online? Here’s how to stop harassing people on email. (★★★★•)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
