Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
We’re looking at a high of 63° today which means it’s officially time to unpack our Solo Stove and don our coziest sweaters.
While I gather some firewood, check out this week’s recs.
Get your graham crackers, marshmallows, and Reese’s cups and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
Welp, we finally did it. We tried watching Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey during our movie night and we only made it halfway through. It was bad. Like, really bad. Seriously, if you respect yourself, you won’t bother. (★••••)
On the other hand, Abby and I saw A Haunting in Venice at Alamo and were pleasantly surprised! It was honestly the best of the new Agatha Christie movies, and I’m not just saying that because St. Louis got a tiny shoutout. (★★★••)
I popped over to a local grocery story and picked up some NA Abstinence Blood Orange Apertif for a Friday, post-work drink. Pro tip: Mix it with Apricot LaCroix for a nice NA mocktail. (★★★••)
Who wouldn’t watch to watch Ed Sheeran give Conan O’Brien a hard time? (★★★••)
As part of our people leader bootcamp at work, we read this post from HBR about the different styles of leadership. It’s handy for thinking about when to lean into each style and how people may respond. (★★★★•)
Looking for a shot of nostalgia? Check out the newest Hot Ones interview with NSYNC and get ready for some throwback TRL memories. (★★★★•)
Have you ever wondered what Marvel characters would look like if they came from Studio Ghibli? (★★★★•)
Christopher Nolan wants to direct a few James Bond period films?! Christopher, take the wheel! (★★★★•)
I recently published a post on Thred, a blog from Lutheran Hour Ministries, that shares a non-religious perspective on faith. The main question: do we make faith too complicated? (★★★••)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
