Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Now that reality has truly set in, I’ve been doing my best to move forward the only way I know how: by injecting sweet, sweet streaming goodness directly into my veins.
While I find the next show to stave off the beginning of 2025, check out this week’s recs.
Get cozy, pull up Netflix/Hulu/Max/Peacock/Prime/Disney+/Paramount+/Fizbo+,1 and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
UPDATES
If you haven’t stumbled across it yet, check out Snark Ave. on Instagram and give it a follow. You might even chuckle a little bit.
By now, plenty of us have gotten used to remote working. During our daily gauntlet of virtual meetings, there's a good chance we've all come across the same people. Here's a list of "People You Meet on a Video Call."

A few of us saw A24’s newest horror/thriller, Heretic, and my god, does it make you think a little differently about organized religion. It also proves that Hugh Grant’s best work isn’t necessarily behind him. He’s as charming as ever but with a psychotic twist. Liked it a lot, but definitely had a few ideas for how it could’ve ended differently. (★★★••)
After finishing Agatha All Along last week, I finished The Penguin on Max, and you better believe Colin Farrell is in the running for at least one Emmy. I mean, the man acted his ass off while wearing full-body prosthetics. The show also provided a perfect bridge between The Batman and the sequel coming out in 2026. Comic book nerd or not, I promise you’ll enjoy it. (★★★★•)
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of Brat, Charli xcx’s smash hit album from the summer, but have you listened to Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat? I can’t remember the last time I heard a remix that was better than the original. I’ve been bumping this album all week, and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. (★★★★★)
Welp, if you’re like me, then you also stayed up way too late last night to watch a 27-year-old ex-Disney Channel star beat up on a 58-year-old ex-con. The real fight was between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, who was robbed after being head-butted several times. Her eyelid was basically hanging from her face. Ew. On the plus side, my friends made the viral “wine pie” during the fight, and it was…as gross as it sounds. (★★•••)
You know what wasn’t gross? The new chocolate I picked up this week. First was Tony’s Dark Chocolate, which apparently started in the Netherlands. Good, but the jagged pieces make it harder to break apart. The other was a Peppermint Mocha Almond Butter Dark Chocolate Bar from Hu Kitchen. It. Was. Amazing. You even get a little grittiness thanks to real coffee. (★★★★•)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
OK, that one was fake.
