Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Welcome to Holiday Hell Week, where the days are shorter, the to-do lists are longer, and the only way through is with a Costco-sized box of Xanax.
We’ve already had a company holiday party, our friend’s annual beer party, and tonight is our a cappella group’s holiday show.
While I take a quick five-minute power nap, check out this week’s recs.
Deck the halls, avoid those malls, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
UPDATES
After a whirlwind week of crazy promo and celebrity attention, tonight is One Too Many’s Holiday Album Release Show! It’s time to sing, dance, and shamelessly plug our holiday album FIVE GOLDEN SINGS. If you’re a slacker with nothing to do, grab some last-minute tickets here!

Wow. I finished A Man Called Ove this week and I’ll be the first to admit, I balled my eyes out. Backman does such an amazing job balancing heavy themes like death and grief with perfectly-timed humor. I don’t remember the last book I read that really hit me this hard. Honestly, it’s one of those rare, perfect books for me. No notes. (★★★★★)
Chris and I saw Y2K at Alamo, and I’m not sure how I missed the fact that it was a cheesy horror movie. Loved the first chunk that was nostalgic AF, but couldn’t really get into the horror part. A few small laughs, but not anything special. Just catch it on streaming later. (★★•••)
Just wrapped Industry Season 3, and I’m shocked by how each season is getting better and better. The characters finally feel like fully fleshed-out people and seeing Jon Snow in a very un-Jon Snow role is worth the watch alone. If edgy dialogue and sex don’t scare you, you’ll love this show. (★★★★•)
Last night was the annual Beer Party, and it was another banger of a night. Every year, we all bring some sort of booze to share, we each get a sampler glass, and then we go ham. Since I was reppin’ team sober yet again, I brought BERO Non-Alcoholic Beer (from Tom Holland).1 Their Pils and Wheat were great and tasted like, well, beer! One of the better NA beer options I’ve had. (★★★★•)
After the night wound down, a few of us grabbed a nightcap at Kenny’s Upstairs, and I had their “Before the Dawn.” It’s a mocktail with NA amaro, hibiscus, cinnamon, foam, and a dehydrated lemon on top. Tasty and not too sweet. (★★★★•)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
Yes, THAT Tom Holland.
Happy Holidays Billy! Thanks for all the fun and perspective. I appreciate you!
