Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
After recovering from my nose surgery, I was back to work, and this week went from zero to sixty real quick. It flew by so fast that I almost forgot today was Saturday.1
While I go figure out what the eff we’re doing tonight, check out this week’s recs.
Hop in the shower, throw on your “going out pants,” and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning evening:

I thought Shrinking Season 1 was good, but hot damn! I finished Season 2 this week, and I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much during a show. It was warmer and fuzzier than the first season while gut-punching you twice as hard. It still involves therapists making VERT questionable decisions, but we’ll let it slide because it makes for amazing TV. (★★★★•)
For movie night, we watched IF, and I thought it was…cute. It’s a story written and directed by John Krasinski about imaginary friends and how adults are just children who forget to have fun. It stars a ton of famous voices as imaginary friends and ends with a twist telegraphed from a mile away. Worth watching, especially if you have kids. (★★★••)
Last night, Abby convinced me to watch Oddity, a scary movie about a psychic who attempts to uncover the truth behind her sister's murder at the site of the crime. As far as horror movies go, I’d say it wasn’t that bad! It felt like one of the more original stories, AND it had the creepiest props I’ve probably ever seen. Plenty of jump scares and only a tiny bit of gore. (★★★★•)
For a spur-of-the-moment date night, Abby and I did dinner and a show on Tuesday. We got all dressed up and went to Vicia, where we had a bonkers meal. We split their POTATO CURROS?!2, which came with a tasty horseradish and dill oil dip, and then I got their Buttonwood Farm Chicken, complete with Sweet Potato, Chicken Sausage, Dates, Grilled Radicchio, and a Sherry Jus. Absolutely no notes. (★★★★★)
The show? Thanks to an obscene amount of peer pressure, we saw SIX at the Fox, and my god, was it good! Imagine the six wives of Henry VIII as pop stars during a tight 80-minute show with no intermission. The music slapped, the humor was self-aware, and each singer was better than the last. My only complaint was that it was hard to catch some of the dialogue, so we missed a joke or two but it was so good, I’d 100% see it again! Give it a listen here. (★★★★★★)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
Which is why you’re reading this at 6 PM.
You read that right.
Excellent as usual. I love your restaurant selections!
