Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good workweek.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been sharing Saturday Morning Cartoons for 40 weeks now.
I’ll be completely honest - this might be the longest I’ve ever consistently shared anything online. Like a lot of people in the creative industry, I’ve always suffered from ADHD (Always Doing, Hardly Done), but this newsletter is proof that if you’re stubborn enough, anyone can do it.
Alright, that’s enough self help-y talk. While I figure out how to keep this going for another 40 weeks, feel free to check out this week’s recs.
Pour yourself another Big Gulp-sized cup of coffee, get all cozy with your furry friends, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
I can’t remember where I got the rec, but I’m just about finished with The Psychology of Money and I’m shocked to say it’s one of the most enjoyable finance books I’ve ever read. It delivers financial lessons via short stories based on psychology. Worth the read even if you’re a stock market bro (ahem) I mean pro.
The Wicked and the Divine is a comic series that asks, “What if pop stars were actually ancient gods in disguise?” I know, sounds weird but after a few issues in, I’m already hooked.
During a special birthday movie night for my friend Bob, we decided to round out the trilogy and watch Mike Magic’s Last Dance. Honestly? Watch the first and last 20 minutes and don’t bother with the rest. All plot, no dancing.
Looking for a job? How about some help from ChatGPT?
As as consultant, I sometimes also find myself asking, “What does a consultant actually do?”
This is the best Tweet I’ve seen in response to the question, “Tell me what you do for work, but make it a haiku.”
Want to see what happens when Disney takes on a semi-professional, all-male a cappella group? My group One Too Many just announced our show “OTM Presents: A Very Disney Dilemma!” on April 30 and it’s perfect for the Disney adult in your life.
Here’s some advice on how to scale a freelance business on your own.
Ever wonder what your favorite tech company says about you? I feel personally attacked and I’m the one who wrote this! 😂
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
