Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good workweek.
We have some college friends in town which of course means we’re going to the Battlehawks game today at…11 AM?! I know, weird time for a football game, but hey, what’re you gonna do? It’s the XFL…
Throw on your sports shirt, practice your KA-KAWS, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
I read Smart Brevity this week and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to communicate better, especially at work. This book shares a short framework that will make even the crappiest of PowerPoints and emails more enjoyable!
For movie night, we gave Strange World and I have to hand it to Disney - it seemed much more inclusive than past movies. At least, during the first half I watched. I may have fallen asleep. Whoopsies!
We finally restocked on espresso beans and the first one up was Blueprint Coffee’s Penrose blend. I could fumble through explaining “notes of chocolate” and whatever else, but trust me, it’s probably the best espresso beans coming out of St. Louis.
For breakfast one day this week, Abby picked up Hello Juice and since I’m as basic as they come, I went with their seasonal Autumn Harvest Bowl….which doesn’t make sense because it’s spring. Don’t overthink it - just get it.
While watching our buddy play banjo at an Irish pub last night (Hi Paul!), he recommended Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin which I ordered with tonic and lime. Irish I would’ve learned about it sooner.1
What does the new world of work look like? Here’s a look at the new 24-hour workday according to nine Americans who have flexible remote jobs.
I’ve never been able to hear a sound more just from looking at an image.
Ever wonder what “creative nonfiction” actually means? Here’s your answer.
Per usual, I’m cooking up a new project. I’ll give you a hint: small jabs at big brands. Follow @realfunnybusiness to see it first when it launches.
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
I know, I know. I’ll see myself out.
