Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Can you believe it? This itty bitty newsletter is one year old?!
That means Iāve been sharing this for 52 weeks straight without missing a single week!1
Since one-year anniversary gifts are traditionally paper (I think), Iām celebrating by giving away the millennial version of paper: cashā¦via Venmo (52 dollars for 52 weeks, get it?)
Thatās right - all you have to do is tag one person who isnāt a subscriber in this post on Facebook and if they subscribe, you could get 52 smackeroos.
While I look up the legality of internet giveaways, check out this weekās recs.
Open up your Instagram DMs, start spamming your high school friends on Facebook, and letās get into it.
Hereās what I have for you this morning:
After finishing Trust, I realized itās actually four books in one: a controversial book about the wealthiest couple in 1920ās New York, the ghost-written memoir that āsets the record straight,ā the ghostwriterās story about writing the memoir, and finally the wifeās diary entries that really sets the record straight. Yeah, I told you last week it was genre-bending and I meant it.
Welp, Jesse Armstrong and the Succession gang actually did it - they took a seemingly-obviously, potentially-repetitive plot line and created one of the greatest modern-day tragedies seen on any screen. They even managed to turn the 90-minute series finale into microcosm for the entire show. The real question now is what will succeed Succession?
Now for something completely different. In case you didnāt know, Iām a huge Bridgerton fan (thanks Bob and Jess) which means weāve obviously been watching Queen Charlotte while we wait for season three. Definitely the steamiest so far! (Get you some Lady Danbury!)
As an avid fan of the Off Menu podcast, I was especially excited to stumble across Trader Joeās new Papadums Lentil and Chickpea Crisps. Pro tip: If thereās one next door, pop over to World Market and pick up some Mrs. H.S. Ball's Chutney to put on top. You wonāt be sorry ;)
As a huge nostalgia nut, I was obviously interested in the BBCās ā100 Greatest Childrenās Books of All Time.ā The only issue? Chicka Chicka Boom Boom was effing snubbed!
What do you think? Should we ban meetings forever?
Looking for a life-changing purchase under $50? Reddit has you covered.
Happy Pride everyone! Is it just me or do most brands take this approach during June?
For this weekās Funny Business post, the hint is: the biggest sign in St. Louis. Take a look here.
You made it to the end! As a bonus, Iāll leave you with this.
Cheers and hereās to 52 more weeks,
Billy
Now if I could only apply the same willpower to drinking enough water every dayā¦
Congrats on one year, Billy! Love the Saturday Cartoons!
