Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
Strap in because I’m about to unload all of my favorite parts of last week’s Nashville weekend. We’re talking food, drink, ALL the coffee, bars, shops, and a bunch of other recs.
While I go back through my photo feed, check out this week’s recs.
Put on those cowboy boots, practice your “Yee haw!” and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
After dropping off our stuff at the hotel, our first stop was Culture & Co. which has CONVEYOR BELT CHARCUTERIE?! We had so many tiny plates, I couldn’t tell you which was which but there was an amazing scone involved. Oh, I also got this Kin Lightwave Bloom NA drink which I will be ordering in bulk. (★★★★•)
Next, I popped over to Five Daughters Bakery for a sweet bite and tried their croissant-style 100 layer “Purist” donut. A solid donut indeed but not the best I’ve ever had. (★★★••)
After that, I stopped into Nash.tn and ended up chatting with the guy behind the counter. He gave me a bunch of great local recs and even convinced me to get this hat and t-shirt. If only St. Louis had a similar, black-and-white clothing brand…(★★★★•)
And now begins the coffee portion of today’s episode. After I scarfed down my donut, I had to try my first (of many) coffeeshops. I went to Honest Coffee Roasters and tried their Holiday Blend Espresso and their Sigri Peaberry Pour Over. All-in-all, I think this was my second-favorite coffee spot… (★★★★•)
…which leads me to my first. Crema Coffee was so good, I went back twice (gasp!) During the first trip, I tried their Timbuyaku Espresso from Peru, their São Sebastião Filtered Coffee from Brazil, and a GF/DF Matcha Donut from Morsel. The next day, I got their Tres Banderas Expresso and a Spring Vacation Espresso Tonic to go. I loved this place so much, I brought home a bag of the Tres Banderas beans and this t-shirt. (★★★★★)
On our last morning, I went over to Retrograde and tried their Synastry Espresso. Really good, but not the best of the trip. (★★★••)1 Since I was in the area, you know I had to tried the Sump Coffee in Nashville before heading out. I got the Spring Espresso Tonic to go, which is only on their Nashville menu, and loved every sip of it. (★★★★•)
During one of our walks around town, I was feeling snacky so I hit up Velvet Taco and ordered one of their Chicken and Waffles Tacos. Sweet, savory, gone. The perfect mobile snack. (★★★★•)
Speaking of snacky, as a late night treat, we went to No Baked and I got three scoops of their edible cookie dough: one Confetti, one Brownie Batter, and one Lucky Charms. Honestly? It was exactly what you’d think. My friend Stephanie and I agreed we didn’t each need three scoops to ourselves. (★★★••)
We obviously hit up Broadway Street, but after visiting Nashville a few times now, it’s lost its magic a little. I will say the Twelve Thirty Club was my personal fav of this trip. It has a downstairs bar and stage, an upstairs music lounge, and an outdoor patio/rooftop bar. The vibez were on point, but what else would you expect with that JT money? (★★★★•)
For “Fumbling Forward Friday,” I shared how easy it is to write a book. All you have to do is follow these 34 steps ;)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
I know, I know. I’m cheating here.
