Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good week.
You’re probably reading this and thinking WTF?! Today’s Sunday! I demand a refund!
OK, first of all, chill out. You aren’t paying for this, and I doubt one day is going to make a difference. Second, you’re right. After putting this newsletter out for 125 weeks straight1 without missing a single Saturday, ya boi is coming to you a little later than usual.
It was a crazy busy week (work trip, early voting, other shenanigans), and I honestly spent all of yesterday doing fun things that don’t involve sitting behind a computer screen.
While I finish recharging and prepping myself for a week of chaos, check out this week’s recs.
Go vote (for Kamala), go vote again (for Kamala)2, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
UPDATES
While waiting for early readers to finish reading Fumbling Forward, I got antsy and decided to (you guessed it) soft launch a new project on Instagram. Check it out, follow, and subscribe, but only if you have a sense of humor ;)
As an attempt to get back into regularly publishing on Medium again, I shared the “People You Meet at a Networking Event.” More “People You Meet” posts to come.

As I mentioned, I voted early on Friday, and thanks to this progressive voting guide for St. Louis City, it was a breeze. Keep in mind that it doesn’t include all of the judges, and as always, make up your own mind. Personally, I couldn’t agree more with how Bernie is approaching things… (★★★★•)
Abby and I finished Agatha All Along this morning and hot damn, Disney/Marvel is stepping up their TV game. If you like witchy things, non-linear storytelling, and dope soundtracks, then you’re gonna love this show. (★★★★•)
A few weeks back, a few friends and I went to Wright’s Tavern for an early dinner, and we did the damn thing. We got Oysters and Scallops for the table and then I got their Ribeye and subbed in Pommes Frites.3 They were also nice enough to make me a coffee-based NA Old Fashioned which was a banger. Definitely recommend going right at 5 PM when they open. (★★★★•)
While hanging out with the guys last night, I picked up these Apricot Elderflower CBD Seltzers from Free Space, and they are downright delicious. They only have 10mg of CBD per can, so you shouldn’t feel loopy or anything. (★★★••)
A few weeks late here, but if you haven’t seen Andrew Garfield on Chicken Shop Date, then you’re missing out on possibly the most chemistry on any screen in 2024. Give these two an Emmy…or a second date! (★★★★★)
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
Cheers,
Billy
That’s 2.4 years, 31.25 months, and 875 days…
Just kidding! Please don’t try to vote twice! I think it’s illegal or something.
I guess I’m someone who now uses “pommes frites” instead of “fries.” Cue collective groan.
